The Sigma 30mm 1.4 Canon is definitely not a professional quality lens but considering the low price tag I do not think this should be too much of an issue to most users. It does what it was designed to do which is deliver good images in low light conditions without the need for a obtrusive flash. I do not know about other people but when I am shooting in situations that do not have a lot of light I hate resorting to the flash as it alters the feel of a scene completely. Shooting without the flash results in photos that are often way too grainy to be of any use so this lens was a dream come true for me. It allows me to capture sharp images even in dim light conditions. I am currently shooting a series of street photos that look absolutely stunning through this lens.
